DuPont company: Aramid prices will rise in the coming period

Dupont Protection Technology, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is a subsidiary of DuPont, which is based in Wilmington, Delaware. The company has successfully restored its full Kevlar® (Full Aramid®) production facilities to full capacity, driven by rising demand for DuPont's Kevlar and Aramid products. In addition to this, Dupont is actively expanding its capabilities by constructing a new state-of-the-art factory in Cooper River, set to produce Kevlar AP and Kevlar XP. The project has seen an investment of over $500 million, with production expected to commence in 2012.

"We're seeing growing interest across multiple sectors, from automotive and aerospace to personal protection and industrial applications," said Dale Outhous, President of DuPont Protection Technologies. "This increased demand has led us to ramp up our operations, including bringing our full-aramid facility back to full capacity and accelerating the development of our new Cooper River plant."

The company has also made significant investments to support this growth, including enhanced R&D efforts, recruitment of top technical talent, and the acquisition of advanced testing, modeling, and simulation equipment. To further strengthen its global presence, Dupont has established new laboratories in India and Brazil. Additionally, the company is increasing the production capacity of aramid raw materials and promoting greater utilization of both aramid and Nomex® products across various industries.
