DuPont company: Aramid prices will rise in the coming period

Dupont Protection Technology, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is a subsidiary of DuPont, which is based in Wilmington, Delaware. The company has successfully restored its full Kevlar® (Full Aramid®) production facilities to full capacity, driven by the growing demand for Kevlar (DuPont Aramid) products across various industries. In addition to this, DuPont is accelerating the construction of a new factory located in Cooper River, which will manufacture Kevlar AP and Kevlar XP. The company has invested over $500 million in this new facility, with production expected to begin in 2012.

"We are seeing an increasing number of applications for our existing products, as well as more advanced solutions, particularly in sectors like automotive, aerospace, personal protection, and industrial markets," said Dale Outhous, president of DuPont Protection Technologies. "This growing demand has led us to operate our full-aramid production facilities at full capacity again, while also speeding up the development of the new Cooper River plant."

The company has also announced that rising demand has prompted further investments, including enhanced research and development efforts, recruitment of top technical talent, and the acquisition of state-of-the-art testing, modeling, and simulation equipment. Additionally, DuPont has established new laboratories in India and Brazil to support local innovation. The company is also expanding the production capacity of aramid raw materials and improving the utilization of both aramid and Nomex® products to meet global needs.
