In recent days, the cotton fabric market at China Light Textile City has seen limited volume of goods being sold, with prices continuing to decline. Specifically, for 32S × 32S, 66 × 66 white plain cloth, the price was above 5.60 yuan/m a few days ago, reaching up to 5.75 yuan/m. However, after several days of price reductions, it is now possible to trade at prices below 5.10 yuan/m, with the highest available price around 5.40 yuan/m. Compared to a few days ago, the drop has been at least 0.25 yuan/m, and in some cases, as high as 0.50 yuan/m.
Similarly, for 32S × 32S, 60 × 60 white plain cloth, the price was previously around 4.90–5.15 yuan/m. As the end of the year approaches, many fabric suppliers are trying to recover capital, leading to further price drops. Now, the lowest transaction price is under 4.60 yuan/m, with the highest still available at around 4.80 yuan/m. The decline over the past few days has been more than 0.30 yuan/m, and in some cases, as much as 0.55 yuan/m.
With the continuous price cuts on cotton fabric over the past few days, many traders have started to increase their spot purchases, taking advantage of the discounts. For example, 32S × 32S, 66 × 66 printed cotton fabric was previously selling at over 7.80 yuan/m, with smaller batches reaching up to 8.20 yuan/m. Recently, the highest asking price for smaller batches has dropped to around 7.60 yuan/m, while slightly larger orders can be obtained for less than 7.30 yuan/m.
For 32S × 32S, 60 × 60 printed cotton fabric, a few days ago, small quantities were sold at around 7.45 yuan/m, while slightly larger orders could be negotiated down to about 7.20 yuan/m.
At present, the "cotton" fabric category has experienced significant price reductions, prompting market operators to implement various promotional strategies based on different fabric types. In addition to pure viscose cotton fabrics reducing prices, other varieties such as "Double Happiness" woven fabrics, polyester-viscose blends, and others have also begun to see similar promotions. This trend reflects a broader effort by suppliers to clear inventory and attract buyers ahead of the holiday season.
