In recent days, the cotton fabric market at China Light Textile City has seen a noticeable decline in both volume and price. The demand for cotton fabrics is not strong, leading to aggressive price reductions. For instance, 32S × 32S, 66 × 66 white plain cloth was previously trading above 5.60 yuan/m, reaching up to 5.75 yuan/m a few days ago. However, after several rounds of price cuts, it is now available for as low as 5.10 yuan/m, with the highest transaction price around 5.40 yuan/m. This represents a drop of at least 0.25 yuan/m, with some instances showing a fall of over 0.50 yuan/m.
Similarly, 32S × 32S, 60 × 60 white plain cloth saw prices hovering between 4.90 yuan/m and 5.15 yuan/m a few days back. As the year-end approaches, many fabric suppliers are pushing for quick sales to recover capital. Now, the lowest price has dropped below 4.60 yuan/m, with the top end settling around 4.80 yuan/m. Some fabrics have seen a decrease of more than 0.30 yuan/m, while others have fallen by as much as 0.55 yuan/m.
With continuous price reductions over several days, spot traders have started to take advantage of the situation, offering better deals. For example, 32S × 32S, 66 × 66 printed cotton fabric was selling for over 7.80 yuan/m a few days ago, with small batches fetching up to 8.20 yuan/m. Recently, the highest asking price for smaller orders has dropped to about 7.60 yuan/m, while larger quantities can be purchased for under 7.30 yuan/m.
For 32S × 32S, 60 × 60 printed cotton fabric, small orders were selling at around 7.45 yuan/m, while slightly larger batches are now available for as low as 7.20 yuan/m.
Currently, the overall cotton fabric market is experiencing significant price drops, prompting market operators to implement various promotional strategies based on fabric types. In addition to pure viscose cotton fabrics, other varieties such as "Double Happiness" woven fabrics, polyester-viscose blends, and others are also starting to see promotions. This trend reflects a broader effort among traders to stimulate sales amid declining demand and competitive pricing pressures.
