The appearance of rayon and natural cotton cloth is very similar. It is difficult for the outsiders of the industry to distinguish. The following small series will introduce you to several different methods. I hope to help you:
1. Finish: rayon, the cloth surface is flat, the yarn defect is very small, no impurities, fine and smooth; while the cotton cloth surface can be seen with cotton shell, impurities, etc., the finish is not as good as the artificial cotton cloth.
2, the uniformity of the yarn count: the yarn of the rayon is uniform and the yarn defect is small; and the cotton yarn is not as dry as the artificial cotton, especially the medium coarse cloth.
3, feel: ergonomic cotton regardless of thick fabric, the feel is mostly soft, and the cotton cloth has a slightly rough feeling.
4, color: artificial cotton cloth has good gloss and color, compared with cotton, artificial cotton cloth is more vivid and beautiful.
5, wrinkle: rayon is easy to wrinkle. When a cloth is rubbed by hand and spread out, a lot of wrinkles appear, and it is not easy to recover in time. Although cotton is wrinkled, it is slightly lighter than rayon.
6, drape: artificial cotton drape is better, cotton drape is not as good as artificial cotton.
7. Powerful: The strength of rayon is lower than that of cotton. Especially in humid environments, artificial cotton has poorer fastness. When the wire is drawn from the edge of the cloth, the rayon is easier to break than the cotton thread. Therefore, the artificial cotton texture is mostly thick and not as thin as pure cotton yarn.
