According to the European Union's Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX), in 2010, the European Union announced the recall of 536 textile and apparel products, an increase of 1.1 times year-on-year, of which 263 products were produced in China, accounting for 49% of the total number of recalls, a doubling year-on-year. .

The recalled apparel products are mainly infant and children's clothing, and more than 85% of them are children's clothing containing drawstrings and decorative accessories. They are recalled due to the risk of necking, injury, and swallowing suffocation. In addition, about 15% of products were recalled due to excessive levels of chemicals such as formaldehyde and azo dyes.
