The amount of textiles exported during the first six months of Vietnam increased 29.97% over the same period

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, the amount of textiles exported during the first six months of Vietnam (2011) amounted to US$6.26 billion, up 29.77% over the same period of last year, and accounted for Vietnam's total exports for the first six months of the year. The amount of 14.54%, of which the amount of textile exports in June this year was 1.32 billion US dollars, up 33.71% over the same period last year.

In Vietnam, textiles were mainly exported to the U.S. (3.18 billion U.S. dollars) and Japan (712.49 million U.S. dollars) in the first six months of this year, up 15.61% and 48.03% respectively over the same period last year.

The countries that exported more than US$100 million worth of textiles in Vietnam in the first six months of this year include South Korea ($314.82 million), Germany ($27.76 million), and the United Kingdom ($27.61 million). Spain ($177.26 million), Canada ($126.36 million) and the Netherlands ($106.12 million).

In addition, the amount of textiles exported to Vietnam during the first six months of this year showed an increase over the same period of last year. However, the amount of textile exports to Egypt and Laos in Vietnam in the first six months of this year was 21.73% and 1.61% lower than the same period last year.
